On the account of World Peace Day, our teachers organized an extraordinary session related to the significance of September 21st. Events like these are usually organized by the students but due to the unit tests, the teachers took the responsibility of the event to make sure we do not miss out on anything.

The session was all about finding inner peace:

“The life of inner peace, being harmonious and without stress, is the easiest type of existence.”

This quote simply describes how salient inner peace is, to live joyfully.

The day began by stating the importance of world peace, continued by a fantastic singing performance related to the theme by our classmate – Kyra. Additionally, we had a guided meditation session by a guest speaker, Mr Bala Kishore, who detailed all about how to center ourselves, improve our focus, and find peace. He explained how dirty water does not produce a proper reflection, a clouded mind creates chaos and holds back from reaching your full potential. Our mind could be de-cluttered by finding peace. He also talked about how modern technology such as phones can be extremely distracting and how they can mask our thoughts from being able to think clearly and hold us back from how much we are capable of achieving. The session concluded with the same guided meditation and breathing exercises followed by a vote of thanks.

Overall, the session was extremely informative and astonishing because simple lifestyle changes help us to be more productive while also being a better person. Life is all based on the simple decisions we make and how much impact they have on our future. So simple changes like following the 5-minute breathing exercises may make a huge difference in our everyday lives.

On the other hand, it made me understand the significance of simple decisions. I’m looking forward to more sessions like these to help me gain knowledge and understand the world better.
