Campus Infrastructure & Facilities | The Gaudium International School, Hyderabad
The Gaudium’s Kollur campus spans 27 acres of thoughtfully designed, sustainably built learning environment on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Every feature of the campus — from the science labs to the lotus ponds, from the robotics centre to the petting zoo — is a deliberate expression of the school’s belief that where children learn matters as much as what they learn.
This is not a campus designed to impress visitors. It is designed to shape learners: to give every child the space, stimulation, and safety to grow across every dimension — academic, physical, creative, emotional, and environmental.
The Gaudium also operates a second campus at Nanakramguda, currently offering Nursery to Grade 2 under the IB PYP framework as a candidate school.
The 27-Acre Kollur Campus
Sustainable Campus
The Gaudium’s campus is built and managed on sustainability principles. The school’s commitment to environmental responsibility is not a programme — it is built into the physical infrastructure and into how students experience the campus every day.
Sustainable features of the campus:
- Solar energy — the campus is supported by solar power generation
- Effluent treatment plant
- Rainwater harvesting units
- Water recharging bodies
- Organic waste recycling systems
- Tree-lined and shaded boulevards throughout
- Natural water bodies including lotus ponds, fish ponds, and bird habitats
- Butterfly parks
Students who grow up on this campus do not just learn about sustainability in a textbook. They live and study within it — and the concept of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle becomes a habit of mind, not a lesson to memorise.
Interactive Science Park
The Gaudium’s Interactive Science Park brings informal science education into the open air. Working and static science exhibits are installed across the campus, making scientific principles visible, tangible, and engaging beyond the laboratory walls.
Students use the Science Park for hands-on investigation — handling real objects, solving real problems, and developing scientific curiosity in a setting that feels like exploration rather than instruction. The park operates in direct synergy with the sustainable campus: bird watching, star gazing, butterfly breeding, petting zoo interactions, and farming activities are all woven into the learning experience.
The Science Park hosts discussions and expert sessions on topics including food systems, nanotechnology, healthy ecosystems, and climate change — connecting campus learning to the largest questions facing the world.
Petting Zoo
The Gaudium is one of the very few schools in Hyderabad to have a Petting Zoo on campus. Students interact with and care for rabbits, ducks, goats, and other animals as a regular part of school life.
The educational value goes well beyond the obvious. Caring for animals develops responsibility, empathy, and an appreciation for the interdependence of living beings — values that are far easier to internalise through experience than through instruction. The Petting Zoo is integrated into the IB PYP transdisciplinary themes in Primary School and supports the Science Park programme across all year groups.
Adventure Campsite
The Adventure Campsite at The Gaudium is a full-fledged outdoor adventure space dedicated to building confidence, leadership, and resilience through physical challenge. Activities include:
- Rock climbing
- Rappelling
- Rope bridge crossing
- Tree house building
- Camping
These experiences develop a child’s capacity to take calculated risks, work in teams under pressure, and discover what they are capable of when comfort zones are stretched. The Adventure Campsite is used across year groups as part of physical education, leadership development, and character-building programmes.
Farming & Farmers’ Market
The Gaudium campus includes active farming land where students participate in growing food from seed to harvest. The school’s Farmers’ Market concept takes this further — students not only grow produce but learn to present, price, and sell it, developing an understanding of food systems, economics, and the value of practical work.
This is one of The Gaudium’s most distinctive campus features and is unique among international schools in Hyderabad.
World-Class Labs & Studios
Science Laboratories
The Gaudium’s Physics, Chemistry, and Biology laboratories are equipped with next-generation audio-visual teaching aids, subject-specific learning kits, and world-class apparatus. Each lab is maintained to high safety standards, with independent workstations for students and layouts that support both individual and group practical work.
All three labs are used across Middle and High School for curriculum-aligned practical work, investigation-based learning, and board examination preparation across IB, Cambridge CAIE, and CBSE.
STEM & Robotics Lab
The STEM and Robotics Lab provides a dedicated, highly engaging environment for integrated Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics learning. Students work on design challenges, prototyping projects, robotics builds, and coding exercises that bring cross-disciplinary thinking into a single, hands-on space.
From Lego Mindstorms and Arduino programming in Middle School through to advanced robotics and engineering projects in High School, the lab is used across year groups to develop the practical, problem-solving competencies that define the school’s STEM programme.
Multi Skills Lab (Life Skills)
The Multi Skills Lab is one of The Gaudium’s most distinctive facilities — a purpose-built space for learning the practical competencies that most schools never address. Skilled instructors guide students through:
- Personal hygiene and first aid
- Cooking and baking
- Tailoring and textile work
- Gardening
- Electrical and plumbing basics
- Automobile repair workshops
- Carpentry and basic electronics
The emphasis throughout is on dignity of labour, gender equality, and resilience. Every student — regardless of gender or background — participates in every area of the lab. The result is young people who are genuinely self-sufficient and who understand the intelligence and skill behind practical work.
Writing Lab
The Writing Lab gives students a dedicated space and structured support for developing written communication skills across genres — expository essays, research papers, creative writing, and reflective writing. It is used across curricula and year groups to strengthen the language skills that underpin all academic achievement.
Social Sciences Lab
The Social Sciences Lab brings History and Geography to life through firsthand materials, maps, artefacts, and experiential resources that make abstract concepts concrete and memorable. Students engage with the subject as explorers and investigators, not just readers.
Arts & Performing Arts Studios
Arts education at The Gaudium is treated as a core discipline, not an extra-curricular afterthought. The school’s dedicated arts and performing arts studios support student development across:
- Visual Arts — Sculpting & Pottery, Arts & Crafts
- Music — Vocal and Instrumental
- Dance
- Theatre
- Yoga & Meditation
Specialist tutors work with students across all year groups. Arts at The Gaudium are integrated into the curriculum — IB PYP units of inquiry, MYP Arts subject group, CBSE Art Integration projects, and CAS for the IB Diploma — and are also available as enrichment for students who want to pursue them at a deeper level.
Technology Infrastructure
The Gaudium campus is built for the digital age. From Grade 1 onwards, students engage with technology as a learning tool through ultra-modern computer labs and a fully connected campus environment.
Campus technology features:
- Wireless networked campus throughout
- High-speed internet leased line with unified threat management
- Integrated Building Management System
- Audio and video control systems
- Parent portal for seamless communication between school and home
- High-end voice communication server for inter and intra-campus connectivity
- Video and audio conferencing facilities
- CCTV surveillance system across the campus
- Door access control system for authorised entry only
- Fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems
The Gaudium’s campus is open for families to visit by appointment. Our admissions counsellors will take you through the school and answer every question you have.
