Curriculum — IB, CBSE & Cambridge School in Hyderabad

The Gaudium is one of a small number of IB World Schools in Hyderabad to offer the full IB Continuum — PYP, MYP, and Diploma — alongside Cambridge CAIE and CBSE. Three globally recognised curricula, one campus, one cohesive learning philosophy.

The Kollur campus holds IB Continuum School status. The Nanakramguda campus is an IB Candidate School*, currently pursuing authorisation for the PYP. The Gaudium School,Nanakramguda is a Candidate School for the IB Primary Years Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. The Gaudium School NNK shares a common philosophy with the flagship school at Kollur—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education and teaching- learning pedagogies. Students move through three stages of learning:

• Primary School (Nursery to Grade 5) — IB PYP
• Middle School (Grade 6 to Grade 10) — IB MYP, Cambridge CAIE, or CBSE
• High School (Grade 11 to Grade 12) — IB Diploma Programme, Cambridge AS & A Levels, or CBSE

Why Three Curricula?

Families are not all the same, and neither are children. Some thrive in the inquiry-based, internationally minded framework of the IB. Others prefer the structured rigour of Cambridge CAIE, with its globally respected external examinations. Many families choose CBSE for the familiarity of the national curriculum and its alignment with competitive entrance examinations in India.

At The Gaudium, you do not have to choose between academic excellence and the right fit. All three pathways are taught to the same standard of teaching quality, within the same campus, by the same committed faculty.

International Baccalaureate (IB)

The IB is an internationally recognised framework offered across three connected programmes at The Gaudium:

IB PYP (Primary Years Programme) — Nursery to Grade 5 An inquiry-led approach that develops curious, caring, and principled learners. Children explore six transdisciplinary themes through structured inquiry rather than rote content delivery.

IB MYP (Middle Years Programme) — Grade 6 to Grade 10 The MYP bridges primary school and the Diploma Programme, developing students as critical thinkers through interconnected subject groups and a year-long personal project in Grade 10.

IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) — Grade 11 to Grade 12 One of the world’s most respected pre-university qualifications. IBDP students study six subjects across disciplines, complete a 4,000-word Extended Essay, take the Theory of Knowledge course, and fulfil the Creativity, Activity, Service requirement. Graduates are equipped for admission to leading universities worldwide.

Cambridge International (CAIE)

Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) is one of the world’s most trusted examination and curriculum frameworks, used by schools in over 160 countries. At The Gaudium, CAIE is available across two levels:

Cambridge IGCSE — Grade 6 to Grade 10 A broad, rigorous curriculum with externally assessed examinations taken at the end of Grade 10. IGCSE results are recognised by universities and employers globally.

Cambridge AS & A Levels — Grade 11 to Grade 12 Specialist subject study at an advanced level, with A Levels widely accepted for university admission in the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, Singapore, and India.

CBSE

The Central Board of Secondary Education is India’s national curriculum board, followed by schools across the country and aligned with national competitive entrance examinations including JEE and NEET.

At The Gaudium, CBSE is taught with the same inquiry-driven pedagogy that shapes all learning here — the curriculum standards are met, but the experience of learning goes well beyond textbooks and rote preparation.

CBSE is available from Grade 6 to Grade 12.

Which Curriculum is Right for My Child?

This is the question every family asks, and there is no single answer — because it depends on the child.

The IB Continuum suits children who are naturally curious, enjoy open-ended inquiry, and whose families are looking at international university pathways. Cambridge CAIE is well suited to children who respond well to structured external examinations and are considering UK, Commonwealth, or US universities. CBSE is the right choice for families planning for Indian competitive entrance exams or preferring the national curriculum framework.

Importantly, one path is not academically superior to the others. All three produce excellent outcomes when matched to the right child.
