IB PYP Hyderabad network athletics meet was held on 24 and 25 of January at Aga Khan Academy. On 24th January the Gaudium girls participated in various track and field events. The medal winner are Minal Shaik of grade 4 secured first place in long jump and second place in 200 mts and 100 mts race. Mahitha Nagandla of grade 5 secured first place in shot put, Ranika Guda of grade 5 secured second place, Sara Goel of grade 4 secured second place in shot put, Kushi Nirvana Metha of grade 5 secured second place in 800 mts race, Jia Kapoor and Tanishka. B secured second and third place respectively in 400mts race, Drithi Reddy of grade 4 secured third place in 800 mts.
The grade 4 girls Minal shaik, Tanishka, Diya and Aisha Jain also secured second place in relay.
On 25th January the Gaudium Boys participated in various track and field event. The geckos won 19 medals. Parth M of grade 4 secured first place in long jump, 100mts, 200mts and 800mts. Deverath of grade 4 secured second place in long jump, 100mts, 200mts and 800mts. Palash of grade 4 secured second place in shot put, Aditya of grade 4 secured second place in 400mts race, Ahan Agarwal of grade 4 secured third place in shot put. Yuvansh of grade 5 secured third place in 400 mts race, Hunshik of grade 3 secured third place in 60 mts race. Girls and boys were declared runner up champion in the competition for 2019. Parth M. from grade 4 deserves special mention as he was declared the Best Athlete of the IB PYP Hyderabad Athletic Meet second year in a row. The Gaudium geckos indeed earned us a lot of prestige and a unique position in the event.
