Holi is the festival of colours and is famous among people of India for the interesting rituals which includes playing and throwing splash of colours over each other, meeting friends and family and enjoying a feast of delicious delicacies prepared on this occasion. Holi marks the arrival of spring after winter. It signifies the victory of good over evil and is celebrated as a day of spreading happiness and love.

On 9th March 2020, Holi was celebrated at The Gaudium school Nanakramguda with great zeal and enthusiasm. A special assembly was conducted on this event. The geckos were introduced to the significance of the festival and the story behind the celebration. A short video on Story of Prahalad and Holika Dahan was shown to the geckos. To rejoice in the celebration of colours is important but to play it safe is equally important. Emphasising the need for precaution and safety, the geckos were made aware of herbal colours made with natural flowers which are dried and ground to powder form. They were asked to play safe Holi by using natural colours instead of chemical colours. The geckos reflected upon wastage of water during Holi celebration and pledged to play dry Holi instead.

The assembly ended on a note of high spirit and energy with a riveting dance performance by our teachers on a fun filled Holi song. The ambiance added to the festive spirit. It was a joyful celebration of Holi at school wherein everyone greeted each other Holi wishes.
