A briny Marine life got revealed on the stage as The Gaudium School, Hyderabad’s early year team celebrated its 4th Annual Day ‘Gimo the Explorer ‘amidst great zest, vibrancy and elation on Thursday 10th January 2019 in the school premises. The Program began with Lighting of the Lamp and invoking the blessings of Lord Almighty. The Soulful prayer song presented by the students, created an ambience of serenity and enthralled the audience.

The Chief Guest for the function Dr. N Ramesh Kumar, IAS (Retired), State Election Commissioner, AP applauded the performances and congratulated the staff and the students for their efforts in presenting a programme par excellence. The occasion was also graced by the other guest of honours, dignitaries, press, parents and students. The honourable director of the school Ms Kirthi Reddy in her address, inspired and motivated the students by sharing her vision for the progress of the school. She also assured the parents that she will leave no stone unturned to get the school to the greater heights in the future also. An annual report of the school highlighting the school’s achievements in both academic and co-curricular activities in in Academic Session was presented through an Audio-visual presentation.

Cultural programme by students this year revolved around the theme ‘Marine Pollution’. The musical play ‘Gimo the explorer’ was an adaptation of a 2003 computer animated movie “Finding Nemo”. Our tiny Geckos focused everybody’s attention towards one of the burning issues of today’s world plastic pollution and its harmful effects on the marine life. Students showcased their talent by means of group song, skit, thematic dance performances and at the same time conveyed the message of taking a simple step by saying ‘No to Plastic’ to save our Planet Earth.

Another breath-taking moment of the day, marking its presence in the history of Gaudium, was the formal launch of school song which is going to play a very vital role in building the spirit and tradition of a school.The programme was concluded with Vote of Thanks by PYP Head boy and Head girl followed by the National Anthem. This narrative enacted by the students awakens every individual to take the lead, start a new beginning, be more considerate and compassionate towards animals and ensure that the next generation doesn’t have to face the negative consequences of our actions.
