Every Child is an Artist” said the famous painter Pablo Picasso and happiness definitely comes from dreaming, creating and expressing your thoughts by drawing and painting.

In keeping with the view, as a part of the campaign for ‘Swachhata’, a painting competition was held for classes 6 to 8 on 13th August 2020 by ‘The Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation (DDWS)’ on the eve of ‘Gandagi Mukt Bharat (GMB)’ campaign launch, a special weeklong campaign.

The DDWS, Ministry of Jal Shakti which is the nodal Department for Swachh Bharat- Grameen is establishing a state-of-art Rashtriya Swachhata Kendra (RSK) at Gandhi Darshan, Rajghat, New Delhi. The RSK is being set up as an experience centre, which uses modern technology to chronicle India’s Swachhata journey in a hi-tech edutainment format with a mix of indoor digital and outdoor physical exhibits.

The CBSE segment students participated in the competition enthusiastically and created many delightful paintings on the given topics. They depicted several aspects related to ‘Gandagi Mukt Bharat’ in their paintings. It was wonderful to watch how the young artists creatively portrayed such critical issues with insightful illustrations. The competition was an extravaganza for the little painters and the spectators; as their painting pursuits blended with the perceptions displayed on the painting sheet a future India full of infinite possibilities found an utterance.
