It was a star-studded marvellous sports event at the ‘Gaudium Sportopia Athletics Annual Meet’ where National and international athletes and Badminton players, Veterans and sportspersons came, participated and sweated it out in all their glory. The august occasion was graced by many dignitaries with the Chief Guest being Shri Jayesh Ranjan(IAS)- President of Telangana Olympic Association and the Guest of Honour being none other than the legendary National Badminton Coach and Gaudium Sportopia Mentor, Padma Bhushan Mr. P. Gopichand. Also present on the occasion was National Athletic Coach and Dronacharya awardee Mr. N. Ramesh, Ms. Kirthi Reddy, Director of The Gaudium School are a few to name. Being a sports event of such high magnitude, it was extremely well managed, organized and executed. This event which was organized by Gaudium Sportopia in association with Hyderabad District Athletic Association and Khel Udaan Initiative was a grand success and well-applauded by the guests and the participants alike.

The participants at the athletics meet had registered well in advance and came in prepared for the athletic extravaganza. From seasoned sportspersons to children undergoing rigorous sports training, to sports enthusiasts and many more, the meet was open for all and had received a tremendous response during its registration phase. The event unfolded with the lighting of the lamp ceremony and inauguration of the athletic track at the venue by Mr. Jayesh Ranjan. He congratulated The Gaudium for not only setting up an amazing facility but also for creating such excellent infrastructure which will motivate students to take up sports in a very structured and organized manner. The fervour of the Athletics meet rung loud and clear throughout the magnificent event with enthusiastic and energetic participation. Categories being under 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 for boys and girls, and also for seniors and veterans in different age groups, the winners were announced on the timing of their sprint in the athletic chapter of the competitions. Competitions were also held in broad and long jumps. The arena was action-packed and saw sizzling athletics with real sportsmanship among all the participants. It provided the students and athletes with an opportunity to showcase their splendid talents and cultivate and nurture a love for sports. The top three winners were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals in each and every competition while all the participants at the event received Certificates of Participation. The program was wrapped up in a very jubilant note as the event of such high eminence was executed very well and marked the beginning of a new sports chapter at The Gaudium!
