The Geckos got an opportunity to know and understand the nuances of flying through the workshop conducted by Altair Aerospace on 13 February, 2017. The session was taken up by Mr.Radhakrishnan Menon who gave them a backdrop of Altair Aerospace as a regional centre and what they do for schools. They got introduced to the concept of Aero-Sports and its relevance on a global level. The session progressed with the concepts of Aeromodelling, Rocketry, RC Quad copters and Model Rocketry through videos and quiz. There was a paper airplane competition which the geckos thoroughly enjoyed. The session was highly informative and useful for the geckos who got to peek into the science behind making things fly.
