The students of grade 5 attended a session by the guest speaker Mr. Karunakar, Manager Horticulture department at The Gaudium school. The students inquiried about sustainable solutions for effective waste management and ways to prevent soil degradation. Mr. Karunakar shared his knowledge and expertise about soil erosion and the process of making bio fertilizer enriched compost (using the banana peels) to enhance the fertility of the soil and prevent soil degradation.
The focus of the session was to support students’ in their learning journey and PYP exhibition 2022-23.
Throughout the session the students demonstrated a great level of enthusiasm and the attribute of the learner profile – “Inquirers”. At the end of the session the students showed their gratitude to our guest speaker by giving a “Thank you card”.
