A field trip is one of the best tools that we can use to provide every student with real-world experiences. When students leave the classroom, they see the connections between what is happening at the school and how it is connected to the real-time scenarios. A field trip to Aurobindo Pharma was planned as a pre assessment activity for our grade 4 geckos under the 6th unit of inquiry “Organization”.

We were really moved by the support rendered by each and every member of the company in every department. Taking time from their normal course of work and explaining all finer aspects on functioning of the departments and importance in contributing to the overall objective of the organization was amazing. Nevertheless, they were patient enough to address all the queries raised by our geckos.

Our field trip started with HR introducing our geckos to various departments of the organization followed by detailed explanation given by two functional heads. At, Aurobindo, we were introduced to various departments such as Research and Development(R &D), Quality Control and Assurance (QC & QA), Production, Packaging, EHS, Warehouse, Engineering, IT, HR and Admin. Thereafter, Geckos were taken to R&D department and packaging department to see the live process. We were also overwhelmed by the hospitality of the canteen staff towards our geckos.

Overall it was a great learning experience and geckos are eager to have many more such trips.
