Celebrations have an outstanding reputation for presenting our local, National and International attractions in the fields of dance, theatre, music, opera, visual arts and outdoor events. Celebrations capture the imagination of people from all walks of life. Birthdays, school carnivals, Festivals are all examples of celebrations and there was no better way to celebrate the end of our inquiry than with a day full of carnival themed learning.
Our PP1 geckos wonderfully showcased different cultures and tradition across the globe in variety of art forms. We started our carnival with a beautiful song sung by our little geckos. They were extremely excited while performing. Then there was a dance performance where they showcased ‘Salsa Dance Form’. It was an outstanding performance done by our little geckos. After that they presented local, national and international cultures and traditions in a beautiful manner. They all got dressed up in a attire of the theme ‘local to global’ . The ‘Local’ group represented Telangana’s own culture and their tradition. The ‘National’ group represented different states of our country. Some of them showed the tradition of Gujrat, UP, Kerala, Rajasthan and on the other hand some showcased the traditions of the states like Jharkhand,Madhya Pradesh etc. Our ‘International’ group beautifully enhanced the traditions of different countries by getting dressed up in international attires. They represented countries like China, Japan, United Kingdom, United States of America etc. The whole school cheered them up and they received a lot of appreciation. The best part of the carnival is that they developed their understanding that we should respect all communities and cultures. All in all the carnival of our this unit of inquiry went wonderful and it was full of fun, entertainment and learning.
