The Gaudium is an authorised Cambridge International (CAIE) school in Hyderabad, offering the Cambridge pathway from Grade 6 through to Grade 12. Students follow a structured, internationally recognised sequence — Lower Secondary (Grades 6–8), IGCSE (Grades 9–10), and Cambridge AS & A Levels (Grades 11–12) — with each stage preparing them for the next.

Cambridge qualifications are used by more than 10,000 schools across 160 countries and are recognised for university admission in the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, Singapore, India, and beyond. The framework is built on academic rigour, subject depth, and externally assessed examinations that give students a globally credible qualification.

At The Gaudium, the Cambridge curriculum is taught within our Happy Minds learning model. The five Cambridge learner attributes — confident, responsible, reflective, innovative, and engaged — map directly onto our school’s philosophy of joyful, purposeful learning. Cambridge’s academic structure; The Gaudium’s approach to the whole child.

Lower Secondary (Cambridge)

Grades: 6 to 8 | Ages: 11 to 14 years

The Lower Secondary years are where students develop independence, critical thinking, and the academic habits they will carry into IGCSE. The curriculum at The Gaudium follows Cambridge objectives across three core subjects, with a full programme of supporting disciplines alongside them.

Core Subjects:

  • English as First Language
  • Mathematics
  • Science

Additional Subjects at The Gaudium:

  • Second and Foreign Languages (Hindi, Spanish, or French)
  • Global Perspectives
  • Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
  • STEM & Robotics
  • Life Skills
  • Visual and Performing Arts
  • Physical Education

Assessment: Students are assessed termly through unit tests and term examinations. At the end of Grade 8, all students sit the Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint Examination — an externally set diagnostic assessment in English, Mathematics, and Science. Results provide individual, subject-level feedback and form a strong foundation for subject choices at IGCSE.

Cambridge ICE Award

Every IGCSE student at The Gaudium is registered for the Cambridge International Certificate of Education (ICE) Award — a group award that recognises students who demonstrate breadth of competency across multiple subject groups.

To earn the ICE Award, students must pass subjects from at least five of the seven Cambridge subject groups, including at least one from each of three broad areas. It is a distinctive qualification that strengthens university applications both in India and internationally, showing that a student has succeeded across disciplines, not just in their strongest subjects.

All Grade 10 students at The Gaudium receive this opportunity automatically as part of their IGCSE registration.

Cambridge AS & A Levels

Grades: 11 to 12 | Ages: 16 to 19 years

Cambridge International AS & A Levels are advanced, subject-specialist qualifications taken over two years and widely accepted by universities around the world for undergraduate admission. A Levels allow students to go deep into the subjects they are most passionate about — and where they intend to build their future.
