CAS is one of the core elements of the IB Diploma Programme. CAS enables students to enhance their personal and interpersonal skills through experience. Students identify goals, develop strategies and determine further actions for self-development. More than this, they get to explore new possibilities, embrace fresh challenges and adapt to vital roles, and later reflect upon their experiences with a purpose.

To meet the objectives of the CAS ‘Master Chef @The Gaudium’, this month a CAS programme was designed for the DP. The geckos enjoyed the experience of live cooking in The Gaudium kitchen. In their new roles and challenges, the self-determined geckos shined as they learned to collaborate with their team for completing the assigned tasks and surely relished the final accomplishment.

Students prepared a 3 course meal. Vegetables got new shapes, the pans sizzled and the aroma wafted from the kitchen. Variety was the key and the spread included delicious dishes like: salad; soups; pastas; veg korma; and the desserts, sheer khurma and the custard. Before the start of the programme, geckos were given a clear briefing on the safety and hygiene process they required to follow. Celebrity chefs from the corporate organisation were invited to mentor the young cooks.

An activity thoroughly enjoyed by the geckos and executed well by the organisers, as the sole objective of CAS was achieved fully.
