To celebrate the joy of colours we have a colour day every month and the colour of this month was Red. Our Pre-primary facilitators conducted ‘Red Day’ on10th August 2018 to introduce Geckos into the mesmerizing realm of colours. Red, the colour of blood and fire, is associated with meanings of love, passion, desire, heat, longing, sensitivity, romance, joy, strength, leadership and determination.  It symbolizes action, confidence, and courage.

The tiny tots looked stunning in their red outfits. The shades of red made the Geckos feel bright, lively and cheerful. The day started off with the colour red everywhere. Special assembly was conducted with emphasis on significance of red colour. Facilitators discussed the significance and importance of the colour ‘Red” in circle time. The Geckos enhanced their communication skills as they confidently participated in the “Show and Tell” activity in their classes describing the Red object they brought from home. The Geckos also got to know the meaning of the Red Colour in The Gaudium Flag. Our little ones spent a spectacular red day.

Colours are indeed the smiles of nature….. The ‘Red Day’ celebration was a wonderful learning activity which helped children to sort and classify objects based on colours there by reinforcing cognitive skills. It was a scintillating day with innocent faces gleaming and reflecting brightness, joy, love and happiness.

Learning Outcome: The geckos understand the significance of one of the colours of the Gaudium flag, Red and feel the joy of having a vibrant colour in their immediate environment.
