While inquiring into ‘community helpers’ our children became knowledgeable about different elements of a community like the people, places, vehicles etc. They were enthusiastically engaged in theatre, story sessions, field trips, role plays etc. to understand that all people have roles and responsibilities in a community. To wrap up this unit of inquiry, the geckos were given an opportunity to dress up as their favourite community helper and present themselves to the class.  The Geckos were very open minded and performed enthusiastically to display their favourite profession. They spoke confidently about where they work, what profiles and attitudes they have and even about their tools apart from discussing their responsibilities. The school witnessed a wonderful parade of community helpers like pilots, policemen, doctors, nurses, painters, musicians, dancers and teachers too.
