Our current unit of inquiry is ‘Safety Measures’. Geckos are learning about safety measures to be followed in different scenarios. To practically demonstrate this we went to our school’s splash pool to understand the safety measures to be followed in and around the swimming pool. They discussed the safety measures like wearing a swimming costume, goggles and cap to be safe from the effect of chlorine water. They were explained that running around the swimming pool is not safe as they might fall and get hurt. Adult supervision is required at all times in and around the pool. To make learning more fun, geckos had a swimming splash party helping them to virtually experience the safety measures. Our geckos were very excited to go inside the pool and had fun with our water sprinklers inside the pool. They understood what to do in the case of emergency and the importance of following safety measures.
