A healthy mind needs a healthy body to dwell in. And exercise is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle. The Geckos of grade 4 enjoyed a session on exercise which focused on the seven primary movement patterns which form the core of any form of exercise. In order to be able to work out regularly and effectively, one must make sure that the body loosens up. These seven movements, viz. squat, lunge, push, pull, twist, bend and gait, concentrate on different parts of the body and help it loosen up as well as get toned. These movements make use of the extra fat stored in the body by burning them up for energy while keeping the muscles intact underneath. It was a very intriguing session for the Geckos who found it very exciting.
